Meet Priya

Melbourne based photographer

kapturing the magic in everyday moments...

I’m Priya — a Melbourne-based photographer drawn to the every day moments that most people overlook.
The glance between a coach and player after a tough game.
The chaos and joy of muddy paws at a community dog event.
The quiet strength behind a scar someone once felt the need to hide.
The split-second emotion that disappears if you aren’t paying attention.
Photography, for me, has never been about perfect poses or curated lives. It’s about people, energy, movement, connection, and truth.
My background outside photography is in leadership and safety, which probably explains why I naturally notice details, emotion, and human behaviour. I’m endlessly fascinated by people — how they show up for each other, what they carry, what lights them up, and the stories they tell without words.
Over time, the camera became more than a creative outlet. It became a way to give something back. Whether I’m photographing grassroots sport, community events, pets and their humans, or personal storytelling sessions, I want people to feel seen — not manufactured.
I love authentic moments far more than perfection.
You’ll rarely hear me say “smile at the camera.”
You’re far more likely to hear: “Just be yourselves.”
Some of my favourite images are the imperfect ones:
windswept hair, muddy shoes, laughter mid-sentence, emotional eyes, tired athletes, proud dog parents, vulnerable conversations, and real life unfolding naturally.
That’s the magic I chase.
Photography allows me to freeze fleeting moments that otherwise disappear into memory — and honestly, I think that’s pretty special.

Welcome to my little corner of the world.
I’m really glad you’re here.
— Priya
